Denis Frajerman
(Website)
Composer Denis Frajerman is member of the experimental french band Palo Alto. He is also a member of Polonium 84 duet , the DAM quartet, and the Frâjerman String Quartet. He is the producer of the ukranian nightmare-pop band The Blizzard Sow. He confesses a post-exotic passion for insects in particular and fauna in general. The recordings of animal sounds are the basis of his tapes.
Deeply linked to writer Antoine Volodine – Frajerman’s first solo album Les Suites Volodine (Noise Museum/Naïve, 1998) is based on his writings – he shares with these author a strong taste for hypnotising atmospheres, sick humor and witchcraft.
Volodine and Frajerman also collaborated twicely for Des Anges Mineurs, a post-exotic oratorio for a six-musicians ensemble (created in 2000) and Vociferations, a cantopera for eleven musicians (2004).
Mix of electroacoustic tapes, contemporary writings, middle-european melodies and improvisations, the music of Denis Frajerman regularly combines with contemporary dance, cinema and radio.
