Three sets of artists represented by Métisse Music in France are featured in the top 10 of the world music charts of November : at No. 2, “REBEL WOMAN” by the young Zimbabwean artist Chiwoniso (who actually performed in Paris very recently) on Cumbancha; at No.4, “MOTHER EARTH ! FATHER SKY !” by Tuvan ensemble Huun Huur Tu featuring the Tuvan singer Sainkho, on Jaro – they also performed in Paris, at the New Morning; and at No. 7, “INIFINITY”, the new album by Warsaw Village Band, also on Jaro, due to hit these shores in February/March, 2009.

While the first great reviews are starting to come in for Jun Miyake’s STOLEN FROM STRANGERS in France, new ones from Germany continue unabatedly and enthusiastically to praise this great CD – and the UK Guardian loved it, too. Jun Miyake will perform at Frédéric Taddei’s France 3 tv show “Ce soir ou Jamais” , an important national cultural program, beginning of December, with Lisa Papineau as featured vocalist.

American singer/songwriter Lisa is setting out to tour Italy in the second half of November to promote her new album RED TREES, out on Yellowbird/Enja in Italy end of October and in the rest of Europe end of February, 2009. Lisa just finished recording for the soundtrack of what is anticipated to be one of the biggest US film releases of 2009, “The Watchmen”.

Jazz composer and pianist Yaron Herman will do a solo concert tour of China in February/March 2009, just before the release of his just recorded trio album. Yaron will be guesting on the next Dominic Miller album (excellent guitarist, and also Sting’s guitar player) with Vinnie Colaiuta and Chris McBride.

New signing Mor Karbasi, the beautiful young ladino singer and songwriter, will play three dates in France before the release of her album through Nocturne here in France, in February of next year.
