The twins Christophe and Tony Raymond, jazz violin and piano, are a new signing to Métisse Music. Their first, eponymous album will be on release on Lontano/Warner as of May 18 here in France. They will celebrate this release
with a concert at the Café de la Danse on May 11.

Lisa Papineau , American songwriter and singer, has a new French based project called “Red Trees” on release through the Enja label Yellowbird, distributed in France by Harmonia Mundi, on May 7. Her trio will perform this repertoire in concert on May 11, at the Nouveau Casino, Paris.

TV station France 5 will use the title “Bourgeois Shangri La” of young Swedish star Miss Li ’s new album “Dancing the whole way home” as a signature tune for their program announcements through June, 2009.

Harold Budd has a new album on release in May, recorded with Clive Wright. It is called “Candylion” and will be out on Darla Records, Robin Guthrie’s US record company, and now the home of a number of Budd’s recent recordings. Also about to get to his public in the US is a collection of poetry by Harold Budd called “Colorful Fortune”. More information on the publisher website Heavenlymonkey. Keith Lowe, a bass player and admirer of Budd based in Seattle, was the instigator of this publication.

U2, whose current album was produced and mostly co-written by Brian Eno, will be performing three dates in Paris in July, which are already sold out. Their next single, MAGNIFICENT, with remixes by Pete Tong, Redanka, Fred Falke, and Adam K and Soha. to boot, is one of the Eno co-writes.

The German jazz label ACT have signed the excellent US pianist Vijay Iyer. His first ACT release will be “Historicity”, scheduled for international release at the end of August.
