We are happy to announce our collaboration with bass clarinet player Denis Colin as of this month. Denis has had albums out on Universal, Nato, etc. His next one will be released by Chant du Monde/Harmonia Mundi, in October. Denis also works in the film music field, collaborating with artist and award winning cartoonist Florence Miailhe.

The trio Giovanni Mirabassi (Gianluca Renzi, bass and Leon Parker, drums) gave an exceptionally beautiful performance at the Theatre Athénée here in Paris last night (June 16). This is undoubtedly one of the best jazz trios around, combining perfect musical skill, melody and rythm in a very original way.

After not even three weeks from the release date, the twins Christophe and Tony Raymond are at no. 3 at the jazz sales of France’s most important retail website, fnac.com with their very first album – right behind Melody Gardot and Diana Krall – congratulations to the musicians, and to the label Lontano/Warner.

Sara Alexander, author/composer, singer and splendid accordion player, a determined activist for the understanding between Arabs and Israelis, has left us after a long illness. Since the 70ies she has been the ambassador of peace and understanding between the two people. Her last days have been dedicated to the translation into Arab of George Farah, the poet from Nazareth.

Dave Liebman has been awarded the nomination to Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government, a very prestigious honour signifying the recognition of his artistic activities and achievements. That’s a very rare honour for an international jazz artist.

Louisa Bey , the beautiful young French jazz singer and very talented author/composer, has been nominated for the French ‘Victoires du Jazz’. So is pianist Yaron Herman, whose latest trio album “Muse” is on the market now, and who already won the award last year.

Giovanni Mirabassi ’s trio with Gianluca Renzi and Leon Parker will present their new album “Out of Track” twice in Paris this month: at the Studio SFR, on June 11 and at the Theatre Athénée, a great venue, on June 16.>
