Harold Budd has confirmed his Berlin concert at Ballhaus Naunyn in Berlin on September 28, to be followed by two more dates in the UK before the end of the year. On release now is a pair of companion piece CDs by two masters, Robin Guthrie on guitar and Harold Budd on piano. “After The Night Falls” and “Before The Day Breaks” are not ambient. Both are instrumental, absolutely beautiful and as emotionally charged as any previous work from either artist, to quote Darla Records, where you can buy these two – check out darla.com.

The author and composer “Thomas “Toma Feterman, at the heart of the gypsy/klezmer/music of the world ensemble “La Caravane passe” has signed with Métisse Music for the world. Thomas is also the composer (and guitarist) of the Freylekh Trio, which will have a new album with some special guests out in 2008. The new album of La Caravane passe, a group of five extravagant and excellent acoustic musicians, will be out on the independent label in November, and it is called “VELKOM PLECHTI”. It is a double effort, containing a CD of new material and a DVD. The release will be launched with two concerts: two nights at the Paris New Morning on 28th/29th November, to be followed by a concert at the Cabaret Sauvage, which can be called their home turf, at La Villette, in December. If you want to celebrate, don’t miss them – they are brilliant on stage, and have a great Paris fanbase.

Sylvain Chauveau is collaborating with Rasim Biyikli of Man on a newly commissioned film music.

The French la Halle clothes chain imported 5000 copies of Pigeon John “Summertime Pool Party” containing the title WEIGHT OF THE WORLD, the song at the centre of their current tv ad campaign, which will last until the end of the year. The CDs will be on sale exclusively at the La Halle stores for three months, at a special low price of around 10 Euros. This is a great album of fun music: rap/hip hop/pop tunes, well composed, composed and interpreted by Pigeon John with gusto and verve, which deserve a big audience.

The reviews of Yaron Herman trio album “A Time for Everything” are starting to come in already, though the release is set for the beginning of October only. They are excellent throughout, and we are looking forward to some great coverage in specialized magazines such as Jazzman at the time of the release.

The release of John Greaves’ “Verlaine” album on Zig Zag Territoires has been set for February 8, 2008.
